Roy-Hart tops Albion; Wilson downs Medina in N-O girls soccer games

A lightning quick goal in the opening minute ignited Roy-Hart to an 8-0 win over Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game this evening at Gasport.

Kaitlyn Mettler netted the quick goal just 40 seconds in off an assist from Kylie Churchhill

The Lady Rams built their lead to 4-0 at the half as Churchill, Mettler and Ada Livergood took turns scoring goals.

Mettler also scored a pair of goals in the second half as Churchill and Ruth Walker each netted one. Grace Parker had a pair of assists during that stretch.

Roy-Hart is now 2-0 and Albion 0-2 in N-O action.

Wilson 7, Medina 0
Addison Elia and Peyton McInnis each scored three goals and Emily Phillips 1 for Wilson.

Wilson is now 2-0 and Medina 1-1 in N-O action.

Akron 1, Newfane 0
Gracie Leiker scored the lone goal as Akron improves to 1-1 in the league while Newfane slips to 0-2.

Medina’s Maddy Satkowski works to get the ball out of the Mustangs end of the field as Wilson’s Abbie Faery chases. The action took place during this evening’s game at Vets Park won by Wilson.

Akron improved to 3-0 in N-O field hockey competition with a 5-0 win over Roy-Hart as Lacey Berghorn sored a pair of goals.

Natalie Rossi scored the lone goal for Wilson in overtime.

Barker 262, Roy-Hart 294
Barker improved to 3-2 in Niagara-Orleans League golf action with a 262-294 win over Roy-Hart at Shelridge this afternoon.

Joel Harris took medalist honors for Barker with a 38.

Akron 226, Newfane 237

In a key match for the N-O lead undefeated (5-0) Akron downed Newfane (4-1) 336-237 as Drew Romesser took medalist honors with a 40.

Volleyball

Batavia 25-25-18-25, Medina 16-20-25-17

Ki’Mani Poole had 4 aces, Miriam Fike 3 and Lexoni Russo 2 for Medina in the four set non league loss to visiting Batavia.

Gabby Flores had 4 kills, Hailey Wilkins 3 and Maddy Rutledge and Poole 2 each for the Mustangs.
