Roy-Hart to host tourney this weekend

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Tim Moriarity and his Ram teammates will host Holley Friday evening in the opening round of the Roy-Hart Tournament.

A local matchup will highlight the opening round of the Roy-Hart boys basketball tournament on Friday night.

Roy-Hart will host Holley at 7:30 p.m. following the Oakfield-Alabama vs. Tonawanda contest at 6 p.m.

The consolation and championship games will be held at 2:30 and 4 p.m. Saturday.

Roy-Hart is 0-2 on the young season while Holley is 0-1.

Friday’s other non league games will have Burgard at Medina, Akron at Lyndonville Notre Dame at Barker, Emerson at Wilson and Sweet Home at Newfane at 6:30 p.m. and Maryvale at Albion at 7 p.m.

In one non league contest on Wednesday evening, Newfane defeated Emerson 79-57 as Kyle DeVoogel had 16, Brandon Gross 15, Chad Dunbar 10 and Connor Hill and Caleb Russell 9 each.
