Roy-Hart swimmers sweep Medina; Albion splits with Newfane in N-O meets

Undefeated (9-0) Roy-Hart downed visiting Medina (3-6) 110-60 this afternoon to put  a lock on outright possession of a third straight Niagara-Orleans League girls swim championship.

The Channel Cats were led by a trio of individual event double winners as Kayla Hagen took the 50 Freestyle and 100 Free, Mandy Hill the 100 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke and Anna Rickard the 500 Free and 100 Backstroke.

Hannah Heil won the 200 Free and Amanda Woodruff the 100 Butterfly for Medina.

Completing the sweep the undefeated (9-0) Roy-Hart boys team, which had already locked up the N-O crown, downed Medina (5-3-1) 116-54.

Will Rickard doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Carter Green in the 200 Free and 500 Free for the Channel Cats.

Chris Goyette won the 200 Individual Medley and Hunter Heil the 100 Butterfly for Medina.

The Albion boys improved to 6-2-1 by defeating Newfane (3-6) 69-15.

Ryan Krenning doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Chase Froman in the 200 Free and 500 Free for Albion which also had Sam Sanchez win the 100 Butterfly, Thomas Furmanski the 100 Backstroke and Jacob Coolbaugh the 100 Breaststroke.

In the girls’ meet, Newfane (6-3) downed Albion (2-7) 65-13.

In the other meet, Akron defeated Barker 84-66 in the boys’ competition and 71-48 in the girls’
