Roy-Hart spikers post win over Albion

Rebounding from a season opening loss, Roy-Hart posted a 25-11, 25-14, 25-12 victory over host Albion this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League volleyball match.

Samantha Albright had 4 spiking kills, Samantha Capen 3 service aces and Alex Stern 2 aces to lead Roy-Hart in the opening set. Capen also served up point 15-18 and Stern 20-24.

Albion’s Honesty Little goes up for a block attempt against a spike by Roy-Hart’s Alex Stern.

In the second set, Samantha McIntyre served up points 8-13, Ava Brigham 15-19 and McKenna Elsenheimer 22-24 for the Lady Rams. Brigham had 3 aces and McIntyre 2 as Albright had 3 kills and Stern 2.

Madelin Groffenberg served up points 18-22 for Roy-Hart in the third set and also had 2 kills.

Akron 25-25-25, Wilson 12-14-3

In a matchup of defending co-champions, Akron rolled to a 25-12, 25-14, 25-3 win over Wilson.

Ella Hill had 14 kills and 2 aces, Jessee Jonathan 19 assists, 5 kills and 2 aces and Sydney Hall 4 kills for Akron.

Akron is now 2-0 and Wilson 1-1.

Newfane 27-12-26-25, Medina 25-25-24-11

A pair of overtime wins keyed Newfane to a 27-25, 12-25, 26-24, 25-11 victory over visiting Medina.

Devin Griffin had 6 kills and 8 aces, Ki’Mani Poole 8 aces, Evie Schultz 3 aces and Anya Bloom 2 kills for Medina.

Newfane is now 1-1 and Medina 0-1.
