Roy-Hart spikers down Albion

Improving to 3-2, Roy-Hart scored a straight set 25-19, 25-17, 25-12 win over host Albion this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League volleyball match.

Trailing 12-11, Roy-Hart moved on top to stay in the opening set as Skyler Christopher served up five points in a row (12-16), a run which featured a pair of spiking kills and a block by Aspen Moore.

A three point run of points by Natalie Lathrop rallied Albion back to within one at 18-17 but the Purple Eagles could not pull even.

Paige Dent makes a set for Roy-Hart.

A four point run of service points by Paige Dent upped the Roy-Hart lead to 23-17 and Christopher polished off the set for the Lady Rams with a kill for the final point.

An early four point run of points by Carly Eldridge (4-7), a run which included a pair of aces, put Roy-Hart on top to stay in the second set.

Olivia Vorholzer upped the Lady Rams lead to 19-11 by serving up points 16-19.

Albion pulled back to within four at 19-15 as Caitlynn Snook served up points 13-15 but the Purple Eagles would get no closer.

Christopher closed out the set for Roy-Hart by registering a kill for point 24 and then serving up point 25.

Christopher then had a big run of 9 straight service points (7-15) to put Roy-Hart in command by a 15-4 margin in the third set, a run which featured 3 aces. She also registered a kill for the set and match winning point.

Albion is now 0-5.

Akron 25-25-25, Medina 22-9-17
Maddie Williams had 5 kills and 11 digs, Alyssa Beyer 12 digs, Je’ne Brown 7 kills, Grace Masse 16 assists and 3 aces and Elle Gross 3 aces for Medina (2-3) in the three set loss at front-running (5-0) Akron.

Wilson 25-25-25, Newfane 13-19-18
Rachel Blasius had 7 kills and 7 digs and Brooke Weiser 3 aces and 6 digs to lead Wilson (4-1) to a straight set win over rival Newfane (1-4).

Albion’s Natalie Lathrop bumps a service return.
