Roy-Hart spikers best Medina; Albion wins
Moving back above the .500 mark at 4-3, Roy-Hart scored a straight set 25-16, 25-20, 25-21 victory over host Medina this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League girls volleyball latch.
Bea Bacon had 12 spiking kills 7 service aces and 2 blocks, Brianna Brewer 6 kills, Skyler Christopher 4 kills and Olivia Vorholzer 4 kills to lead the way for Roy-Hart.
Je’ne Brown had 7 kills, Molley Gross 5 kills and Emily Kams 3 aces for Medina, which slips to 2-5.
Bacon served up points 6-12 and 21-25 to spark Roy-Hart to a first set victory.
Brewer then scored points 21-24 to help the Lady Rams wrap up the second set and a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
Medina did grab a 16-14 lead midway through the third set as Gross had a kill and a block for points and Lexi Neuman 4 service points but Roy-Hart answered right back with a 3 point run of points by Victoria Stanczyk to regain an 18-16 advantage.
The set was then tied 18-18 an 21-21 before Christopher served up the final three points to close out the win for the Lady Rams.
Albion 25-25-25, Wilson 22-15-23
Albion boosted its N-O record to 5-2 with a straight set 25-22, 25-15, 25-23 victory at Wilson (3-4).
Chanyce Powell had 8 kills, 5 digs and 4 blocks, Haley Smith 8 kills and 2 digs, Kaitlyn Van Skiver 6 kills, 2 aces and 2 digs, Caitlynn Snook 2 aces and 2 digs, Emily Barleben 15 assists, 11 digs and 1 ace, Sierra Newton 9 assists and 1 kill and Isabella Gibbs 3 aces for the Purple Eagles.
Jennifer Meyers and Madelyn Healy both had 5 kills for Wilson.
In the other N-O match, front-running Akron (7-0) scored a straight set victory over Newfane (0-7).
