Roy-Hart ousts Cleve Hill to gain B2 final
Scoring early and often No. 3 seed Roy-Hart posted a 12-2 five inning run rule victory over No. 7 Cleveland Hill in a Section VI Class B2 semifinal game this afternoon at Gasport.
Trailing 2-1, Roy-Hart took charge with back-to-back four run scoring bursts in the second and third innings.
Hits by John Conley and Brayden Hy highlighted the second inning uprising. Doubles by Jake Gould and Thomas Russo III along with a single by Ryan Mettler then keyed the third inning surge.
The Rams later wrapped up the win in the fifth inning on a three-run triple by Noah Stern.
Hy finished with three hits as Stern and Russo both had two.
Mettler picked up the win on the mound scattering 5 hits and striking out 4 over the five innings.
Roy-Hart will now visit top seeded Medina in the B2 championship game at 2 p.m. Saturday.
