Roy-Hart ousts Alden in B2 quarterfinal

All of the scoring came in the first half as No. 4 seed Roy-Hart shutout visiting No. 5 Alden 3-0 this evening in the quarterfinals of the Section VI Class B2 boys soccer playoffs.

A quick two goal scoring burst by Trent Choate midway through the first half put Roy-Hart in charge. He scored at the 25 and 22 minute marks as Eli Giroux assisted on the first and Aidan Bligh on the second.

Peter Martillotta made it 3-0 before halftime with a goal again assisted by Bligh.

Brad Voelker made nine saves to earn the shutout in goal as the Rams defensive unit included Christian Lates, Brett Ricker, Dom Peracciny, Noah Stern, Dillen Giertz and Zach Livergood.

Now at 8-3, Roy-Hart will next visit  top seeded Allegany/Limestone game in the semifinals on Thursday. Alleygany/Limestone blanked No. 8 Wilson 3-0.

In other B2 quarterfinals action No. 3 Southwestern defeated No. 6 Akron 3-1 and No. 2 Fredonia downed No. 7 Newfane 3-1..
