R-H grad plays key role for Herkimer softball

Roy-Hart graduate and Herkimer College sophomore Taylor Fry  is hitting leadoff and playing left field for the highly ranked Generals softball squad.

A Criminal Justice major, Fry is hitting .489 with 43 hits and 26 stolen bases for the Generals which are ranked second nationally.

This weekend Fry and her Generals teammates will be playing in Western New York as Herkimer faces Genesee Community College for a doubleheader at Batavia on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. and Niagara Community College on Sunday for a twin bill at 12 noon and 2 p.m.

Herkimer, under Head Coach P.J. Anadio,  is 21-5 on the season.  The Generals have been the Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference Champions for 6 consecutive years, Region III Championships for the last 5 years, and have appeared in the last five NJCAA World Series. The Generals won the National Championship in 2013 and finished runner-up the past three seasons to Rock Valley, Illinois.
