Roy-Hart grad Taylor Fry and her Herkimer County Community College softball teammates have qualified for a return trip to the national championships.

On Saturday, the Generals beat Genesee Community College to return to the NJCAA Softball National Championship in Rochester, MN for the sixth consecutive year.  The National tournament will take place this coming Thursday through Saturday  at the McQuillan Softball Complex.

Fry, along with teammates Molly McGuire, Keeanna Wolcik and Shannon Moore were named first team All-Region.  Fry and Casey Boltersdorf were selected to the All-Tournament team with Moore being named Tournament MVP.

In April, Fry was chosen as Herkimer’s Female Athlete of the Month.  She has been the leadoff hitter and playing outfield this season.  To date, she is hitting .492, with 63 hits and 31 stolen bases.

“We are extremely proud of Taylor and all of the success she is enjoying this season,” said Head Coach PJ Anadio. “She is reaping the benefits of her own commitment, hard work and sacrifice to improve her strength, become a better player and ultimately gain the confidence needed to become an elite athlete.”

Next year Fry will be continuing her education and softball career at NCAA Div II Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA after recently signing a letter of intent and accepting academic and softball scholarships.
