Roy-Hart girls score key victory over Wilson; Albion and Medina earn non league wins

Staying alive in the title chase, Roy-Hart rallied in the second half to down front-running Wilson 2-1 in a key rain soaked Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game this evening.

Improving to 7-2, Roy-Hart pulls to within a game of Wilson (8-1) with just one game remaining on the N-O schedule. Roy-Hart will visit Newfane and Wilson will travel to Akron on Wednesday in the league finales.

Wilson grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first half on a goal by Addison Elia.

Roy-Hart though battled back in the second half as Kaitlin Mettler scored the tying goal with 15 minutes to go and then Allie Trombley netted the game winner with just six minutes remaining.

“The kids played very well. I’m really proud of them.” said Roy-Hart Coach Rich Jennings.

Albion 2, Depew 1
Albion edged past host Depew 2-1 in a non league contest as Julia Button scored both goals in the first half, the second coming off an assist from Alison Gibson.

Abigail Wittenberg made 3 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Medina 2, CSAT 0
Medina blanked CSAT in a non league game at Vets Park as Madelyn Lewis and Rory Owczarczak scored the goals, both coming off assists from Katelyn Hilobuk.

Camryn Eick earned the shutout in goal.

Wheatland-Chili 2, Kendall 1
Wheatland-Chili scored in the last three minutes to down Kendall 2-1 in a Genesee Region League game.

Alea Barrett scored the Kendall goal as Brooke Rodas made 10 saves in goal.

Holley 6, Attica 0
Holley blanked Attica 6-0 to improve to 11-2 in G-R action and 12-3 overall.

Samantha Bates and Jailyn Bishop both scored two goals as Alyssa Wright and Emma Brady each chipped in with one.

Bishop, Bates, Brady, Alivia Wolf and Hanna Ostrom all had assists.

Layne Walker made 2 saves to earn the shutout in goal.
