Roy-Hart downs Medina in N-O X-C opener

Roy-Hart bested visiting Medina in a season opening Niagara-Orleans League cross-country meet this afternoon.

Roy-Hart won the boys meet 22-33 led by the 1-2 finish of Ronan Klug and Lawson Wallworth. Medina’s Ryder Jones finished third.

The Lady Rams scored a narrow one point, 27-28, win paced by the 2-4-5 finish of Julia Rohde, Marissa Bryant and Julia Miles.

Medina’s Madeline Mark won the race and Ariel Smith placed third for the Mustangs.

Barker likewise swept Wilson winning the boys’ meet 24-35 and the girls’ competition 24-33.

Wilson’s Jayden Ruble won the boys race as Barker’s Luke Fay placed second.

In the girls race, Barker got a 1-2 finish from Mikala Woock and Shelby Dauphinee.

In a tri meet, host Newfane defeated Albion 15-46 and Akron 21-34 in the boys’ competition. Akron also downed Albion 17-41.

Newfane’s Liam Betteridge was the individual winner.

The Lady Panthers also scored a sweep defeating Albion and Akron by the identical score of 17-44. Akron also downed Albion 28-32.

Newfane’s Kylie Bowman was the individual winner.
