Roy-Hart clinches tie for N-O boys soccer title; Medina/Lyndonville trims Akron

Celebrating Senior Night in style, Roy-Hart clinched at least a tie for a second straight Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer championship by posting a 3-0 victory over Newfane this evening.

Peter Martillotta scored two goals and Landen Guild one as Elijah Giroux chipped in with a pair of assists for the Rams.

Roy-Hart, which is now 7-1, will visit runner-up Wilson (7-2) in the N-O finale on Thursday. Wilson downed Albion 3-0 this evening.

In the other N-O contest, Medina/Lyndonville nipped Akron 1-0 at Vets Park to improve to 5-3 in the league.

Roman Heinsler scored the lone goal for the Mustangs off an assist from Jackson Moreland with 17:41 to go in the second half.

Zach Fike earned the shutout in goal for the Mustangs making eight saves including a stop of a direct kick in the final half minute.

N-O Standings: Roy-Hart 8-1, Wilson 7-2, Medina/Lyndonville 5-3, Akron 3-4-1, Newfane 2-6-1, Albion 0-9.

Holley 1, Kendall 0 OT

Holley nipped host rival Kendall 1-0 in double overtime this evening.

James Tette scored the game’s lone goal for the Hawks in the second overtime period off an assist from Cam Bates.
