Roy-Hart claims third straight N-O title; Holley tops rival Kendall; Lyndonville wins

Locking up a third straight league title, Roy-Hart downed Albion 4-0 in a Niagara-Orleans boys soccer game at Gasport this evening.

The victory keeps Roy-Hart undefeated at 8-0 in N-O action and gives the Rams an unbeatable three and a half game lead over runner-up Wilson (4-2-1) with just two games remaining.

The Rams grabbed a 2-0 half-time advantage on a pair of goals by Peter Martillotta, the first 15 minutes in and the second with 13 to go on a rebound shot.

Martillotta also netted both second half goals for the Rams which also got assists on the evening from Aiden Guild, Rem Albee and Landen Guild.

Zack Walker earned the shutout in goal for the Rams whose defense was anchored by Caleb Verratti, Brayden Hy, Ethan Kuzma and Andrew Waters.

Albion’s Ben O’Connor and Roy-Hart’s Jack Johnson battle for control of the ball.

Holley 3, Kendall 1
Avenging an earlier 3-0 loss, Holley downed visiting rival Kendall 3-1 in a Genesee Region League game this evening.

Cam Bates had a goal and two assists for Holley which also got goals from Ben Cox and Chris Mosier.

Lyndonville 2, Pembroke 1

Lyndonville edged past host Pembroke 2-1 in a G-R game as Mason Nicholson scored on a penalty kick and Alex Farrell tallied off an assist from Kevin Travis.

Medina 1, Tapestry 0
Medina nipped host Tapestry 1-0 in a non league game on a first half penalty kick goal by Cole Callard.

Akron 9, Newfane 0

Akron (4-2-1 blanked Newfane (0-8) in an N-O game as Andrew Romesser, Collin Rehwaldt, Cole Flaming and Mason Marcinkowski each scored a pair of goals.

Girls Soccer
Pembroke 2, Albion 1
Pembroke scored with five minutes to go on a goal by Mykenzie Dylag to nip visiting Albion 2-1 in a non league game.

Alison Gibson scored the Albion goal.

In a G-R contest, Oakfield-Alabama downed Lyndonville/Barker 7-0.
