Newfane boys and girls win over Albion, Medina

Roy-Hart trimmed Akron 26-29 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys cross-country meet this afternoon.

Akron’s Will Chubb was the individual winner as Roy-Hart’s Jay Heideman placed second.

Akron gained a split on the day by downing Roy-Hart 15-50 in the girls race as Lauren Wagner finished first.

The Barker boys downed Wilson 17-45 led by the 1-2-3 finish of Mason Allee-Castro, Nate Hess and Dawson Donovan.

The Wilson girls edged Barker 26-29 behind the 2-4-5 finish of Ella Ingwerson, Maddy Jowdy and Cassidy Wagner. Miksla Woock finished first and Shelby Daphince third for Barker.

The Newfane boys and girls teams both scored a pair of wins to improve to 4-0.

In the boys competition Newfane downed Medina (23-36) and Albion (incomplete). Medina also picked up a win over Albion which had an incomplete team.

Medina’s Arian Cayea won the race as the Newfane brother duo of Connor and Andrew Cuzzacrea finished second and third.

The Newfane girls likewise downed both Medina (15-50) and Albion (incomplete). Medina also scored a win over Albion’s incomplete team.

Newfane’s Kylie Bowman won the race with her teammate Leah Seigmann second.

Kylie Bowman led from start to finish in today’s race for Newfane. Arian Cayea pulled in front of the lead pack to win a race today at Newfane.
