Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina hockey team set to begin second season on Wednesday

The Roy-Hart/ Barker/ Medina (RBM), last season’s Western New York Club Hockey Sectional winning  high school club hockey team will begin their second season of competition onWednesday evening against last season’s Large School Champion, Orchard Park at Depew at 8 p.m..

Last season, after beating Jamestown-Southwestern- Maple Grove for the title 4-1, the same two teams reached the New York State title game with Jamestown winning 4-2.

This season, instead of being three divisions (Large, Small and Mixed Schools), there will be just two with RBM moving from the Mixed Division (which no longer exists) all the way to the Large Division.

Graduated from last year’s squad is Barker’s Luke Luckman and Rocco Spagnolo, and Roy- Hart’s

Joe DiBenedetto and goalie Evan Birkemeir.  Returning for this season are Roy- Hart’s Tom Paisley, Jason Kuchey, Michael Kuchey, Colin Dodge and Dominic Peracciny, Akron’s Dylan Krzykowski, Drew Marsh and Trevor Crawford, Medina’s Rhett Wagner and Conner McNeil and Barker’s Jacob Harris.

Newcomers include Ryan Mettler, Reed Winslow and Tagen Decker from Roy- Hart, Mitchell Johnson from Barker, and Nicholas Wood from Akron.  Also, from the Club Goalie Pool, Tyler Lehan of Grand Island and Andrew Warner from Tonawanda.

Home games are played at the Cornerstone Arena in Lockport.  The season continues with a home game on Saturday evening against the same Orchard Park team at 6:50 p.m..  Orchard Park defeated Jamestown twice this past weekend to kickoff their season.
