R-H/Barker boys win to share N-O swim title
Claiming a share of a fifth straight league title, Roy-Hart/Barker bested visiting Newfane 109-55 in a regular season ending Niagara-Orleans boys swim meet today.
Roy-Hart/Barker and Albion finish the season as N-O co-champions with identical 7-1 records.
Carson Hashem was an individual event double winner in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart/Barker as Nick Armenia won the 100 Butterfly, Garrett Armenia the 500 Free, Sean Labiak the 100 Backstroke and Garrett Glyshaw the 100 Breaststroke.
Newfane got wins from Noah Kneeland in the 200 Free and Dylan Lamont in the 200 Individual Medley.
The Roy-Hart/Barker girls squad completed a 7-0-1 N-O title season, by tying with Newfane 85-85.
Julia Miles won both the 50 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart/ Barker as Ava Achtyl took the 500 Free.
Kimberly Schmitt doubled in the 200 Free and Breaststroke for Newfane as Avery Stevenson took the IM, Lydia Lamont the Butterfly and Lauren Enderton the Backstroke.
N-O Boys Basketball
Akron 60, Albion 44
Building up a 37-24 half-time advantage, Akron went on to down visiting Albion 60-44 in an N-O League game this afternoon.
Akron improve to 6-1 and Albion slips to 1-6.
Blake Gerstung scored 10 and Ben Gerstung 8 to lead the balanced attack for Akron which got point production from nine players.
Kyle Radder score 12 and Blake Preston 10 for Albion.
