Roy-Hart and Barker score N-O softball victories to maintain a share of first place
Roy-Hart and Barker both scored victories this afternoon to maintain a share of the Niagara-Orleans League softball lead at 5-1.
Roy-Hart knocked Wilson out of a share of first place by posting a 14-6 win as the Lakewomen slip to 4-2.
Defending champion Barker topped Akron 9-1.
In the other N-O game, Albion downed Newfane 10-4.
Kaitlin Mettler had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, for Roy-Hart as Millie Owens, Peyton May and Brooke Corser each had 2. Owens, Corser and winning pitcher Abby Fox also each had a double as May and Olivia Marsillo both banged out triples.
In the circle, Fox allowed 5 hits and struck out 8.
Madyson Flint had a big two-way game for Barker. At the plate she had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs. In the circle she allowed only 4 hits and struck out 14.
Albion broke away from a 4-4 deadlock by scoring 6 runs in the top of the seventh inning to down Newfane.
Singles by Aubrielle Barry, Alana Irvine and MacKenzie Snook loaded the bases to set up the opportunity. Kaitlyn Bennett then had a two-run as Lux Froman and Taylor LeFrois also had key singles.
Earlier, the Purple Eagles scored twice in the first inning on a double by Irvine and RBI singles by Cami London and Froman and twice in the fifth on a home run by Kenzie Snook.
Medina 22, CSAT 3
In a non league game Medina romped past host CSAT 22-3 as Alexa Demmer had a pair of doubles, Sam Heschke a three-run home run and Eva Lacy 3 hits including a double.
Attica 17, Holley 0
Attica downed Holley 17-0 in a Genesee Region League game.
