Roy-Hart ‘9’ downs Lockport
Strong pitching keyed Roy-Hart to a 3-1 win over host Lockport in a non league baseball game this afternoon.
Thomas Russo allowed no hits and struck out 13 over the first five innings and Dawson Draper gave up 2 hits with 5 strikeouts over the last two frames for the Rams.
Breaking away from a scoreless deadlock, Roy-Hart scored once in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Brayden Hy.
The Rams added a run in the sixth on a sacrifice bunt by Sean Mettler and one more in the seventh on an RBI single by Draper.
Improving to 3-0, Roy-Hart next faces Olean at St. Bonaventure University at 5 p.m. Monday.
