Rochester bowler wins Medina Lanes Tourney

Rob Manners of Rochester rolled a 265 game with handicap in the four-person finals to win the Medina Lanes New Year’s Day Eliminator Tournament.
The right-hander rolled 238 scratch and, with his 27 pins handicap, edged Rick Daniels of Albion by 10 pins for the $400 first prize.
Daniels, who rolled 206 scratch plus 49 pins handicap for 255, earned $200.
Scott Gibson of Oakfield placed third (232 game with handicap) and Frank Jarkiewicz of Byron finished fourth (206 game with handicap), winning $100 each.
Finishing in fifth through eighth place, good for $50 apiece, were Samantha Hyde, Mickey Hyde and Tom Rohl, all of Le Roy, and Ed Toscano of Rochester.
The tournament drew 36 entrants.
