Rivals romp to lopsided win over Lancers

Exploding out to a huge 32-0 first quarter lead, Albion/Medina went on to blitz Lew-Port 68-0 in a B1 Division football game this evening at Lew-Port.

Quarterback Preston Woodworth ignited the Rivals decisive opening quarter scoring surge with a pair of touchdown passes the first covering 29 yards to Jayzon Wills and the second covering 36 yards to Noah Harrison. Elijah Doxey added both two-point conversion carries.

A run of 31 yards by Doxey highlighted the first drive and a 36 yard pickup by Wills keyed the second.

Doxey also had an 18 yard fumble recovery return for a touchdown and Hadrian Batista threw a 34 yard TD pass to Harrison for the other two opening quarter scores. Jaxon Lynch added both two-point conversion carries.

Albion/Medina led 40-0 at the half as Woodworth connected with Harrison on a 43 yard TD pass in the second quarter and Doxey added the two-point conversion run.

The Rivals advantage jumped to 54-0 at the three-quarter mark on third quarter touchdown runs of 54 yards by Woodworth and 9 yards by Doxey. Doxey also had the two-point conversion run after the first score.

Albion/Medina closed out the 68-0 rout on a fourth quarter touchdown run of 10 yards by Yo’hanel Harris and a 35 yard interception return by Doxey. Boe Preston passed to Doxey for the two-point conversion after the first score.

Albion/Medina improves to 3-0 in the division and 4-0 overall while Lew-Port drops to 0-3, 0-4.

The Rivals next visit Maryvale at 7 p.m. Thursday for another B1 contest.
