Rivalry matchups to highlight the upcoming high school sports week

Kendall will host rival Holley in a key Genesee Region League boys soccer game at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to highlight the upcoming week of local high school sports action.
The Hawks and Eagles are both 1-1 in G-R competition.
In girls soccer, Medina will visit rival Albion at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a Niagara-Orleans League contest. The Mustangs are 2-3-1 and Albion 2-4 in league action.
The Medina girls will also visit Lyndonville at 4:30 p.m. Monday in a non league game. Winners of three of their last four games, the Lady Tigers are 3-3 overall.
N-O field hockey competition will reach the halfway point on Tuesday with a big game as front-running Akron (5-0-0) hosts runner-up Wilson (4-0-1).
Akron posted a key 1-0 victory over nine time defending champion Barker last Thursday to maintain sole possession of first place. That victory ended a 10 year drought for Akron whose last win over Barker was in the opening game of the 2005 season by the identical score of 1-0. The Lady Tigers went on to claim their last outright N-O title that season.
On Monday, the Medina High courts will be a beehive of volleyball activity. The Medina girls will host CSAT at 6:30 p.m. at the high school in an N-O match while the first year Lyndonville/Medina boys squad will entertain Wayne Central at 6:30 p.m. at the Wise Middle School.
