Rival Kendall, Holley spikers to meet in opener

Rivals Holley and Kendall will meet in the Genesee Region League volleyball opener on September 7 at Holley.
Holley is led by a group of seven returnees including seniors Katie Morgan, Jennah McMillian and Helana McLean along with juniors Allis Howard, Angie Weaver, Ava Kohut and Kassie Norman.
The Kendall lineup is anchored by the veteran senior quintet of Lexi Peyton, Chelsea Wright, Maddie Rath, Jessica Makowski and Emily Mattle.
The Lady Eagles are also looking to senior Mariah Marks along with juniors Sunni Brice, Shianna Patten, Ashley Kingsbury and sophomore Jenna Regan.
“We have a solid group of core returners who have gained several years of experience at the Varsity level,” said Coach Morgan Engelbert. “Our task this year is to try and fill the shoes of Sarah Pearson (’16), who earned GR All-Star for her setting last year. The setter role is so critical to our success. We have our work cut out for us to find a spot in the top of the league, but the potential is definitely there if we continue to work hard!!”
