Ricker’s ace highlights Albion’s links win

A hole-in-one by Patrick Ricker highlighted the Albion golf team’s 238-257 victory over Barker in a Niagara-Orleans League match this afternoon at Hickory Ridge.

Ricker, who had a round of 44 on the day, used a pitching wedge to ace the 133 yard third hole.

Albion’s Nick Perry and Barker’s Jake Harris shared medalist honors with rounds of 42.

Nick Newton also had a 48 for Albion, which next hosts Medina on Friday.

Albion is now 2-0 and Barker 1-1.

In the other N-O matches, Wilson defeated Roy-Hart 269-299 and Akron downed Newfane 256-275.

Nathan Meyers took medalist honors with a 47 and Patrick Seeley added a 49 for Wilson in the Lakemen’s season opener.

Roy-Hart is now 0-3.

Andrew Romesser earned medalist honros for Akron with a 41 and Jack Klodzinski added a 48.

Sam Capen led Newfane with a 48.

Akron is now 2-0 and Newfane 0-2.
