R-H regains lead as CSAT tops Albion

Roy-Hart defeated visiting Akron 9-2 this evening to regain sole possession of the Niagara-Orleans League baseball lead as CSAT upended visiting Albion 9-5.

Roy-Hart is now 9-2 and Albion 8-3 heading into Friday’s key meeting at Albion. The Rams blanked the Purple Eagles 5-0 in their earlier season meeting at Gasport.

Roy-Hart 9, Akron 2
Trailing 3-1, Roy-Hart rallied for five runs in the fifth inning highlighted by a double by Brandon Hess, a two-run single by Justin Heschke, a two-run error and an RBI sacrifice fly by Andy Xapsos to key the victory over Akron.

Charlie Bruning picked up the win on the mound for the Rams registering 7 strikeouts.

CSAT 9, Albion 5
Capitalizing on seven errors, CSAT upset Albion 9-5 as the Eagles scored in five different innings.

Evan Pappalardo, Kyle Smith, Bryce Pritchard and Liam Ward each had a pair of hits for Albion.

Wilson 17, Newfane 8
Trailing 5-0, Wilson erupted for six runs in the second inning on a combination of 4 walks, 2 hit batters and a double by Connor Seeley to key the 17-8 win over rival Newfane.

In all the Lakemen benefitted from a total of 13 walks on the day.
