Barker, Akron post shutout wins

Regaining the .500 mark at 5-5, Roy-Hart blanked Medins 3-0 this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League field hockey game at Vets Park.

Shannon Dent scored what proved to be the game winning goal in the first half for Roy-Hart.

The Lady Rams later put a lock on the win on second half goals by Angelina Ciarfella and Rielly Albee. Delaney Draper and Alexis Lovewell earned the assists on those goals.

The loss drops Medina to 1-9.

Barker 3, Wilson 0

Defending champion Barker improved to 7-1-1 by posting a key 3-0 win over visiting Wilson (7-2-1).

Becky Stoloski scored what proved to be the game winner for Barker 10 minutes into the first half.

The Lady Raiders then put a lock on the win as Lydia Dewart and Natalie Menz scored in the second half.

Caitlyn Mason made 3 saves to earn the shutout in goal for Barker.

The teams played to a 1-1 overtime tie in their first meeting this season.

Akron 7, Newfane 0

Undefeated league leading Akron (9-0) bested Newfane (2-7) 7-0 as Sarah Schultz and Heather Cummings each scored 3 goals.
