The American Red Cross will continue to keep a shelter open at the Kendall Town Hall until 4 p.m. today.

The Lyndonville Fire Department will keep a warming station open at the fire hall until further notice, said Dale Banker, the county’s emergency management director.

National Grid had about 2,600 customers in Orleans County without electricity at 8:45 a.m. today. That was down to 1,848 at 12:30 p.m.

The power company expects to have electricity restored to its Orleans customers by 10 tonight.

(Editor’s Note: Red Cross moved closing of shelter in Kendall from 6 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
