RBM hockey team wins third straight
Making it three wins in a row, the Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina Club Hockey team hosted Cheektowaga Wednesday evening and came away an 8-2 victory.
Highlighting the evening were four goals by Jackson Hauser (Barker) in what was a very physical game with 18 penalties resulting in 53 penalty minutes.
The opening period ended in a 2-2 tie, with Hauser scoring both goals with assists from Sean Mettler (R-H) and Max Pilon (Medina). One of the goals was unassisted.
RBM took a 4-2 lead in the second with goals by Nate Downey and Gavin Ickowski both of Roy-Hart and assists by Mettler and Hauser.
The third period saw four RBM goals: Austin Woodward (Wilson) from Aiden Cronkhite (Newfane), two by Hauser with an assist to Ickowski and the final goal by Cronkhite unassisted.
Four of RBM’s goals came on powerplays and one shorthanded.
Noah Orens (Newfane) turned away 28 shots in goal for the win.
RBM’s next game is Saturday against St. Joe’s at the North Buffalo Ice Rink at 9 p.m.
