Raptors cap off title season with 3-2 victory

Completing a near perfect 9-1 championship season, the Holley Raptors downed runner-up Gananda 3-2 Tuesday evening in the Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U19 Division finale at SUNY Brockport.

Abby Scanlan had two goals and Nikki Creasey a goal and an assist to spark the offense for the Raptors.

Gananda jumped out to a 1-0 lead but the Raptors rallied to tie the contest before halftime as Scanlan scored on a breakaway off a pass from Ella Fadale.

The Raptors then moved on top to stay by scoring the first two goals of the second half.

Scanlan scored the go ahead goal on a 30 yard shot off a pass from Creasey.

Creasey then netted what proved to be the game winning goal off an assist from Aly Knaak on a play started by a corner kick by Creasey.

Sydney Mulka earned the win in goal for the Raptors as she made several big saves in each half.

Gananda finishes in second place at 6-2-2.
