Extending their hold on first place, the Holley Raptors blanked host Victor 3-0 Thursday evening in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U19 Division game.
Improving to 7-1 (21 points), the Raptors now hold a four point lead over runner-up Gananda (5-1-2, 17 points) in the two team title race with just two games remaining on the regular season. Gananda dropped a key 2-0 decision to third place Penfield (5-4-0, 15 points) on Wednesday.
The Raptors will visit Lakefront on July 30 and then close out the season against Gananda on August 2 at SUNY Brockport. Gananda’s other remaining game is against Lakefront on July 26.
Abby Scanlan scored 2 goals and Ella Fadale 1 for the Raptors in the win at Victor.
The Raptors jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead as Scanlan first scored off a corner kick by Nikki Creasey and then on a breakaway off a cross from Fadale.
Fadale netted the lone second half goal on a breakaway off an assist from Halee Passarell.
The Raptors played a man short for three-quarter of the game after a red card as Sydney Mulka, Aly Knaak and Scanlan shared in handling the goaltending duties to share in earning the shutout.
