Rams top Raiders; Lakemen down Mustangs

Capping off the regular season on a high note, Roy-Hart scored a 67-60 Senior Night win over visiting Barker this evening in a Niagara-Orleans League game.

Jamel Johnson Jr. scored 28, Dan Aquilina 16 and Nate Beyer 10 to lead the way for Roy-Hart which finishes the N-O season at 8-4.

Luey Castro scored 23 and Brad Cantrell 18 to set the pace for Barker which is now 3-8 in N-O action.

Barker jumped out to a 16-12 first quarter lead as Castro and Cantrell each scored 6. Johnson Jr. netted 9 to keep Roy-Hart close.

The Raiders maintained a slender 27-24 lead at the half as Castro tallied 7 in the second quarter. Aquilina had 6 and Johnson Jr. 5 for the Rams during that stretch.

Roy-Hart battled back with a 22-16 third period scoring edge to rally into the lead for good 46-43 at the three-quarter mark. Beyer scored 8, Rem Albee 6 and Johnson Jr. and Aquilina 4 each to spark that rally.

Keeping the momentum, the Rams then opened the decisive final period with a 12-4 run to extend the advantage to 11, 58-47. Johnson Jr. and Aquilina both scored 6 during that key stretch.

Barker could get no closer than 8 after that as a three by Jackson Webber and baskets by Beyer and Johnson Jr. locked up the Rams win.

Wilson 58, Medina 45

Trailing 41-37, Wilson rallied with a big 21-4 fourth quarter scoring edge to post 58-45 N-O win over visiting Medina.

Blake Martin and John Ernest each scored 7 to spark the Lakemen in the decisive final period. Martin had a total of 16 on the night and Matt Fox 12.

Down 25-22, Medina put together a 19-12 third period scoring edge to rally into the 41-37 advantage at the three-quarter mark. Jerrell Nealy scored 9 of his 14 points in the period for the Mustangs.

Wilson is now 4-7 and Medina 1-10 in N-O action.

Newfane 62, Akron 44

Deadlocked at 40-40, Newfane used a big 22-4 fourth quarter scoring edge to down Akron 62-44 and remain undefeated at 11-0 in N-O competition. The loss drops Akron to 5-6.

Byron-Bergen 63, Kendall 44
Building up a 29-14 half-time advantage Byron-Bergen went on to down host Kendall 63-44 in a Genesee Region League game.

David Brumsted led the Bees with 18 while Zach Barrett tallied 13 and Devin Edick 11 for the Eagles.
