Rams top Mustangs; Purple Eagles best Tigers

Staying within a game of the top spot, Roy-Hart blanked Medina/Lyndonville 3-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this evening at Gasport.

Jamasen Johnson scored what proved to be the game winner for Roy-Hart with 18 minutes to go in the first half off an assist from Patrick Sheelar.

Medina/Lyndonville’s Brandon Heschke knocks the ball way from Roy-Hart’s Ethan Lindke.

The Rams then put a lock on the victory with a pair of late second half goals as Johnson scored again off an assist from Jacob Higgins and Noah Kindron tallied from Aidan Bligh.

Those tallies came in the final 10 minutes after the Mustangs had a shot bounce off the crossbar that would have tied the contest.

The victory boosts Roy-Hart’s N-O record to 5-1 while Medina/Lyndonville drops to 1-5.

The Rams next host a key contest against undefeated (5-0) defending champion Newfane at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Gasport .

Albion 2, Akron 0
Albion scored a goal in each half to blank host Akron 2-0 in an N-O makeup game.

Noah Goudreau scored what proved to be the game winner for Albion at the 28 minutes mark of the first half off an assist from Leonel Rosario.

The Purple Eagles then got an insurance tally when Tom Hollenback scored just 1:06 into the second half off an asset from Nate Scanlan.

Devin Gaylord made 3 saves to earn the shutout in goal.

Albion in now 2-3 and Akron 0-4-1 in N-O action.
