Rams top Lakemen to gain share of N-O lead

Moving into a share of first place, Roy-Hart knocked Wilson from the ranks of the unbeaten by a 5-2 margin this evening in a key Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game.

Roy-Hart is now tied with Akron for first place at 4-1 at the half-way point of the N-O season as Wilson slips into the runner-up spot at 3-1.  Akron downed Newfane 3-1.

Rebounding from an early 1-0 deficit, Roy-Hart rattled off five straight goals to claim the victory.

In the first half the Rams had Peter Martillotta score off an assist from Elijah Giroux, Trent Choate score from Noah Stern and Aidan Bligh tally from Martillotta.

Roy-Hart then put a lock on the win in the second half as Martillotta scored off an assist from Giroux and Hunter Babel tallied from Bligh.

Roy-Hart next hosts Akron at 430 pm. Monday in a key battle for first place. The Tigers downed the Rams 4-1 in the season opener.

Akron 3, Newfane 1

Travis Fry scored two goals and Caleb Suckow had a goal and an assist to lead Akron to the victory.

Jeremy Foltz scored for Newfane which slips to 2-3.
