Rams top Lakemen to open N-O title defense
Roy-Hart opened defense of its Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball title with a 52-34 victory over visiting Wilson this evening.
Jamel Johnson Jr. scored a game high 23 points to lead the way for Roy-Hart as Rem Albee had 13 and Dan Aquilina 8.
Logan Wolfe led the Lakemen with 12.
The Rams steadily pulled away leading by margins of 18-8 after the first quarter, 32-17 at the half and 42-27 at the three-quarter mark. Albee scored 8 in the first quarter while Johnson had 7 in the second and 7 in the fourth.
Newfane 64, Barker 61
Newfane used a 16-11 fourth quarter scoring edge to nip host Barker 64-61 in another N-O opener.
Ben Dickinson had a key run of six straight points in the final period to rally Newfane from a one point deficit into a five point lead.
Dickinson finished with 19, Nate Snow 14 and Landon Braman 12 for the Panthers.
Luey Castro scored 19, Aidan Mescall 15 and Aidan Voss 14 for Barker.
