Rams to open soccer sectionals at home
The Niagara-Orleans League champion Roy-Hart boys and girls soccer teams will both open the Section VI Class B2 playoffs at home early this week.
The No. 4 seeded Roy-Hart boys squad, which captured its first N-O title in 20 years with a 7-3 record, will host No. 5 Alden in a B2 quarterfinal game at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday’s other B2 quarterfinals will have No. 8 Wilson at No. 1 Allegany/Limestone, No. 6 Akron at No. 3 Southwestern and No. 7 Newfane vs. No. 2 Fredonia at Silver Creek all at 5 p.m.
The No. 3 seed Roy-Hart girls squad, which earned a share of their first ever N-O title with an 8-2 record, will host No. 6 Eden in a B2 quarterfinal at 5 p.m. Monday. The winner will visit No. 2 Wilson in the semifinals on Wednesday. Roy-Hart shared the N-O crown with Wilson.
In the boys B1 quarterfinals No. 5 Medina/Lyndonville will visit No. 4 Lackawanna at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will visit No. 1 seed East Aurora in the semifinals on Thursday. The Steelers nipped the Mustangs 2-1 in last year’s quarterfinal.
In the girls Class B1 quarterfinals N. 6 Albion will visit No. 3 Springville at 5 p.m. Monday. The victor will face the winner of the No. 2 Olean vs. No. 7 Depew game in the semifinals on Wednesday.
