Rams romp to diamond win over Panthers

Roaring out to a commanding 15-0 lead after two innings, Roy-Hart went on to down host Newfane 23-2 in a Niagara-Orleans League game this afternoon.

Roy-Hart grabbed a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning as Jake Gould had a double and Brayden Hy a two-run single.

The Rams then broke the contest wide open by exploding for 12 runs in the second inning as Dawson Draper had a two-run single and an RBI single, Sean Mettler a two-run single, Thomas Russo a double and Hy and Draper RBI singles.

Keeping the momentum, the Rams tacked on six runs in the third inning on an RBI double by Gould and run producing singles by Mettler, Russo, Draper, Zack Walker and Remington Albee.

Gould, Hy, Russo and Draper each finished with 3 hits.

Gould and Evan Poeller shared the pitching duties allowing 2 hits and striking out 10.

Roy-Hart is now 2-1 and Newfane 2-2. The Rams next visit Wilson Tuesday for a make up game.

Two N-O games rained out
The other two N-O games – Medina at Akron and Barker at Albion – were both rained out and have been rescheduled for Tuesday.
