Three first inning runs proved to be more than enough as Roy-Hart went on to shutout visiting Albion 7-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League baseball game this afternoon.

RBI singles by winning pitcher Thomas Russo and Jake Gould along with a wild pitch plated the first inning runs as back-to-back leadoff walks set up the threat.

The Rams tacked on solo runs in the third inning on back-to-back doubles by Ethan Kuzma and Jay Heideman and in the fourth frame on a single by Brayden Hy.

Two unearned runs in the sixth inning capped off the Rams scoring.

On the mound, Russo allowed only 2 hits and struck out 11 in six innings of work. Ryan Mettler came on to hurl the seventh inning and struck out the side.

It was the league opener for Roy-Hart while Albion is 1-2 in N-O action.

Akron 9, Wilson 0
Akron completed a home-and-home series sweep over Wilson by posting a 9-0 win.

Drew Romesser picked up the win on the mound allowing 2 hits and striking out 6.

Leading 1-0, the Tigers put a lock on the win by exploding for 8 runs in the sixth inning as Jack Klodzinski had an RBI double and Dawson Stone and Anthony Consiglo run producing singles.

Akron is now 3-0 and Wilson 2-2 in N-O action.

In a Genesee Region League game, Oakfield-Alabama downed Lyndonville 21-0.
