Rams post key N-O win over Lakemen

Closing to within a half game of first place, Roy-Hart blanked front-running Wilson 13-0 this afternoon in a key Niagara-Orleans League baseball game.

Jacob Bruning hurled a 3 hitter with 13 strikeouts for Roy-Hart which improves to 7-3 as Wilson slips to 8-3.

Al Xapsos had 4 hits, including a pair of doubles, Charlie Bruning 3 and Eric Fitch 2 to lead the Roy-Hart attack.

The Rams scored 4 runs in the second inning as Fitch had an RBI double and Charlie Bruning a run producing single.

Roy-Hart quickly tacked on 3 more runs in the third highlighted by a two-run double by Charlie Bruning.

The Rams later capped off the big win with a 6 run sixth inning uprising highlighted by a three-run double by Xapsos.

Batavia 14, Medina 4
A 5 run second inning sparked Batavia to a 14-4 non league win over visiting Medina.

Alex Allis had 2 hits for Medina and Ricky Pitts added a double as Brett Riemer, Renee Masters and Trenton Jones all had singles.

The Mustangs next host Akron at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in an N-O game.

Aquinas 8, Albion 0
Aquinas scored 8 runs over the first three innings in route to posting an 8-0 win over Albion in a non league contest.

Vincent Zona and Thomas Furmanski combined to throw a 2 hitter with 6 strikeouts in four and two-thirds innings of relief pitching for Albion.
