Scoring in dramatic walk off fashion in the bottom of the seventh inning, Roy-Hart posted a narrow 2-1 win over Akron in a key Niagara-Orleans League game on the turf at Newfane this afternoon.

Dawson Draper banged out a double with two out in the last of the seventh to drive in the winning run for the Rams which take over first place by a narrow margin in the tight four-way N-O title chase. A two-out double by Brayden Hy followed by an intentional walk to winning pitcher Thomas Russo set up the opportunity.

Hy also accounted for the Rams only other run as he tripled and came home on a passed ball in the first inning.

Hy, Draper and Jake Gould each finished with three hits for the Rams.

Akron rallied to tie the game at 1-1 in the sixth on an RBI single by Jack Julicher. A walk and Vincent Consiglio’s second single of the game set up the threat.

On the mound, Russo scattered 4 hits and struck out 11.

Roy-Hart is now 5-1 while Akron, Wilson and Medina are all deadlocked at 3-1.

Medina 4, Barker 0
Aidan Paul hurled a two hit shutout with 17 strikeouts to lead Medina past host Barker 4-0.

Aiden Pitts drove in what proved to be the game winner for Medina with a sacrifice in the first inning.

The Mustangs tacked on 3 runs in the second on sacrifices by Brody Fry and Richard Keppler and a single by Paul who had 2 hits on the day.

Aidan Voss struck out 5 in 6 innings of work on the mound for Barker which is now 0-7 in N-O action.
