Rams Edge Purple Eagles in N-O soccer

A goal in each half earned Roy-Hart a 2-1 win over visiting Albion in a Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game this evening.

Roy-Hart jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Braden Ricker scored off a corner kick by Rem Albee with 26:24 to go in the opening half.

Albion answered with the tying goal by Finn McCue seven minutes later but the Purple Eagles could not score again.

Ricker later netted the game winner for the Rams on a line drive shot 13 minutes into the second half.

Both teams are now 1-1 in N-O action.

Roy-Hart next hosts Akron at 6:45 p.m. Thursday and Albion entertains Newfane at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.

Wilson 6, Newfane 0
Wilson improved to 2-0 in N-O action with a 6-0 win over rival Newfane as Keegan Hermann led a parade of five Wilson goal scorers with two goals and two assists.

Newfane is now 0-2 in N-O competition.

Genesee Region League
Kendall and Byron-Bergen battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime in a Genesee Region League game.

Both goals came within a minute of each other early in the first half as Louis Conte scored for Kendall off an assist from William Kludt.

Jimmie Swift made a dozen saves in goal for Kendall including a couple of big stops in overtime.

In another G-R contest, Attica/Alexander edged visiting Holley 1-0.

Albion’s Finn McCue goes high for a header.
