Rams edge past Tigers

A two run scoring spurt in the top of the seventh inning earned Roy-Hart a 5-3 win over host Lyndonville this afternoon in a non league game.

The Rams combined a double by Joe Nolan, singles by Ben Maynard and CJ Fitch and a bases loaded walk into the decisive last inning uprising.

Lyndonville did rally for a run in the bottom of the seventh as AJ Buckland tripled and came home on a single by Jacob Hoffee but the Tigers left runners stranded at first and second. Buckland had 2 hits on the day.

Nolan, Maynard, Fitch and Aaron Metz each had 2 hits for Roy-Hart. Nolan’s hits included a solo home run in the fifth inning.

The Rams other 2 runs came in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Andy Xapsos and a double by Fitch.

Aquinas 17, Albion 12

Albion jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first two innings but host Aquinas came battling back with six run scoring bursts in both the fifth and sixth frames to earn a 17-12 non league win.

Dominic DiCureia had 3 hits and Aaron Burnside 2 for Albion which scored 4 runs in the top of the first inning and 7 in the second.
