Surviving a big seventh inning scare, Roy-Hart edged past visiting Medina 4-1 this evening to claim outright possession of a second straight Niagara-Orleans League baseball championship.

Roy-Hart finishes the season at 9-3 as Albion, Barker and Wilson end up in a three-way deadlock for second place at 8-4.

Roy-Hart built up a 4-0 lead by scoring once in the first on a single by Jake Bruning, twice in the fifth on errors and once in the sixth on a sacrifice by Jake Stern.

Medina though came battling back in the top of the seventh as two walks set up the comeback bid.  Nate Sherman then hit a two out RBI single and another walk loaded the bases.

However, Roy-Hart got out of the jam in dramatic fashion as right fielder Matt Maines snagged a line drive shot for the final out as Medina left three runners stranded.

Eric Fitch had 2 hits on the evening for R-H as did Alex Allis for Medina.

Cameron Meadows started on the mound for Roy-Hart and pitched into the seventh striking out 8. Chris Goyetted started for Medina and hurled 5 innings striking out 3.

Medina finishes the N-O season at 4-8.

Barker 7, Akron 2
Collin Webb had 3 hits, including RBI singles in the first and seventh innings and a two-run double in the second to spark the attack for Barker which also included a double and triple by Ryan Voss and a triple by Devan Mangan.
