A trio of three run scoring bursts keyed Roy-Hart to a 10-1 victory over host Barker this afternoon in the Niagara-Orleans League baseball opener for both teams.

Roy-Hart took the lead for good by scoring three quick runs in the first inning on infield hits by Josh Baptiste, winning pitcher Andy Xapsos and CJ Fitch.

The Rams later put a lock on the victory by scoring three times in both the sixth and seventh innings.

Baptiste and Xapsos both had singles in the sixth which was also aided by a walk and an error. Two walks and a pair of errors then highlighted the seventh inning uprising which also included a sacrifice by Sam White.

Andy Xapsis, Baptiste, Justin Heschke and Alex Xapsos each had two hits on the day. Heschke’s hits included an RBI single in the fifth inning.

On the mound, Andy Xapsos scattered three hits and struck out 10 in six innings of work.

Roy-Hart next hosts CSAT and Barker entertains Wilson on Monday.
