Rams claim Roy-Hart Tournament title

Getting point production from 10 different players, the host Rams defeated Tonawanda 62-47 this evening in the championship game of the Roy-Hart Tip-Off Tournament.
Justin Heschke scored 16 to lead the Roy-Hart attack. Andy Xapsos and Matt Borel both added 7, Ben Maynard, Chris Anderson and Jacob Bruning 6, Tim Moriarity and DJ Davis 5 and Eric Fitch and Paul Ragonese 2.
Xapsos earned the tourney’s Most Valuable Player honor while Heschke was named to the All-Tournament team.
Cody Diaz took game high honors with 24 and Justin Holevinski added 9 for Tonawanda and both were named to the All-Tournament team.

Roy-Hart jumped out to a 19-6 first period lead and was never headed. Heschke scored 10 points on two rebound baskets, a layup and 4 for 4 from the free throw line and Xapsos chipped in with a pair of fast break layups to spark the Rams early surge.
Back-to-back baskets by Heschke midway through the second period followed by jumpers by Bruning and Maynard helped to boost the Roy-Hart advantage to 16, 29-13, at the half.
The Rams advantage soared to 20, 46-26, at the three-quarter mark as threes by Moriarity and Xapsos highlighted the third period scoring.
Roy-Hart is now 2-2 on the season.
