Pulling away in the third quarter, Southwestern went on to defeat host Roy-Hart 64-50 this evening in a regular season ending non league boys basketball game.

Leading by a narrow 27-23 margin at the half, the Trojans outscored the Rams 20-10 in the third period to take charge. Matthew Pannes scored 6, Mitchell Pascarella 5 and Aidan Kennedy 4 to lead that surge.

Roy-Hart could get no closer than 10 in the final stanza as back-to-back threes by Pascarella helped Southwestern lock up the win.

Kennedy finished with 18, Pascarella 14, Pannes 10 and Calvin Ricker 9 to lead the Trojans.

Aiden Petrie scored 12 and Rhett Goodwin 11 to pace Roy-Hart as Reed Albee added 9, Canyon Wood 6, Jamel Johnson Jr. and Gavyn Boyle 5 and Jon Gillings 2.

Southwestern jumped out to a 12-7 first quarter lead as all five starters contributed to the point production.

Roy-Hart did rally into a 20-18 lead midway through the second period after two baskets and a pair of free throws by Petrie who went 8 for 8 from the line on the evening.

However, the Trojans answered with a 9-3 run to close the period, including 7 by Kennedy, to regain the lead for good at the half, 27-23.

Southwestern improves to 5-14 while Roy-Hart finishes the regular season at 6-14.
