Rams blank Purple Eagles; Hawks nip Tigers

A first inning run proved to be the game winner as Roy-Hart went on to blank Albion 3-0 in a Niagara-Orleans League game this afternoon at Gasport.

A triple by Thomas Russo plated the decisive first inning run. The Rams later added a pair of insurance tallies in the sixth on an error.

Albion had what would have been the tying run disallowed in the third inning as the runner was ruled to have missed home plate.

The Purple Eagles later stranded runners at second and third in both the fourth and sixth innings.

Dawson Draper and Brayden Hy shared the pitching duties for the Rams combining for a 2 hitter with 7 strikeouts.

Amari Jones went the distance on the mound for Albion allowing only 4 hits and striking out 10.

Albion improve to 4-1 and Albion slips to 2-3 in N-O competition.

In the other league game, Wilson (3-1) downed Newfane (2-3) 12-4.

Roy-Hart’s Jake Gould dives back to first base but is tagged out by Albion’s Jack Kinter.

Holley 6, Lyndonville 5
Holley plated a run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a bases loaded single by Josh Silpoch to nip Lyndonville 6-5 in a Genesee Region League game.

The Hawks had tied the game at 5-5 by scoring four times in the sixth on five walks and an error.

Lyndonville jumped out to an early lead by scoring 4 runs in the second inning as Ian Mank had a two-run single and Payton Grabowski an RBI single.
