Rams blank Lancers on combined no hitter

A trio of pitchers combined to hurl a no hitter sparking Roy-Hart to a 6-0 win over Lew-Port in a non league baseball game on Lockport’s turf field this afternoon.
Jake Gould, Sean Mettler and Isaac Smith teamed up for the no hitter and a combined total of 11 strikeouts.
Offensively it was a big late inning scoring burst that broke the contest open for Roy-Hart.
Leading 1-0, Roy-Hart pulled away by scoring five times with two out in the top of the sixth inning on a two-run single by Thomas Russo, an RBI double by Smith, a bases loaded walk and an error.
Russo also accounted for what proved to be the Rams winning run in the fourth inning as he reached on a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch.
Zach Walker and Russo also both banged out doubles for the Rams.
Roy-Hart will return to Lockport on Saturday to face the host Lions in another non league contest.
