Rams and Tigers score N-O diamond wins

Jumping out to a quick first inning lead, Roy-Hart went on to blank visiting Barker 8-0 this evening as the Rams improve to 7-3 in Niagara-Orleans League baseball action.

The Rams scored 4 times in the first inning on a two-run single by Rem Albee, an RBI single by Jake Gould and a run producing sacrifice fly by Dawson Draper.

Sean Mettler later added an RBI single in the fourth inning and Brayden Hy had a two-run triple and Thomas Russo an RBI double in the sixth.

On the mound, Russo, who pitched the first two innings, and Gould, who hurled the final five frames, combined on a no hitter. Gould struck out 10 and Russo 3.

Roy-Hart next visits Albion at 4:45 p.m. Thursday in a make up game.

Akron 5, Newfane 1
Front-running Akron improved to 7-1 by downing host Newfane (3-6) 5-1 this evening.

Andrew Romesser hit a solo home run and Vince Consiglio and Jack Julicher both had RBI singles to lead the Tigers attack.

Denny Romesser picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers scattering 4 hits and striking out 12.
