Rampage hands Force first softball loss
The Rampage softball team beat a previously undefeated (9-0) Evans Force team 7 – 3 in Metro league action Tuesday.
Evans took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning scoring one. Rampage tied the game up in the top of the third after a sacrifice bunt by Ashley Hill followed by a single by Samantha Choate.
Evans answered right back and scored two runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. However, Rampage quickly retied the game at 3-3 in the top of the 4th after singles by Samantha Coakley and Izzy Schultz put two runners on base and Emily Metz came up big with a two-run double.
Rampage then took the lead for good in the 6th inning scoring 3 runs on singles by Alyssa Mayers, Coakley, Metz, and Megan Amacher.
Rampage added another run in the 7th inning after a single from Hill and triple from Choate.
Hanna Sobieraski went the distance on the mound striking out 3 and getting Evans to fly out 12 times including a diving catch at third by Hill. Rampage played a solid defensive game.
