Press Release, NYS Department of Transportation

The New York State Department of Transportation has announced a travel advisory for motorists along the Lake Ontario State Parkway in Monroe County, for a ramp closure which goes into effect Thursday, May 3, until Wednesday, May 9.

NYSDOT will close the eastbound on-ramp to the Lake Ontario State Parkway at Hamlin Beach State Park to allow for concrete repairs on the bridge deck over Yanty Creek. This work is part of the ongoing Lake Ontario State Parkway Paving Project, which began in April.

Along with the ramp closure, the eastbound right lane of the Lake Ontario State Parkway will be closed at the ramp.

A detour will be posted for motorists to take Moscow Road to Route 19 to access the Lake Ontario State Parkway.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
